Terra. O terroir. O ponto gps. De onde somos. Onde estamos. Para nós, a nossa terra é Basto. Mais precisamente Atei, a menina dos olhos da Senhora da Graça, banhada pelo Tâmega. Terra fértil, verde, apesar de ser “de trás-os-montes”, com mais vinhas que gente. Terra de interior, de gente orgulhosa, vaidosa das suas origens. Vivemos cá, mas humildemente, temos consciência que somos os dois, eu e o Alberto, fragmentos deste granito amarelo da serra do Alvão. E que somos abençoados por viver aqui.
A sub-região de Basto é a mais interior da Região dos Vinhos Verdes encontrando-se a uma altitude média elevada, estando por isso resguardada dos ventos marítimos. O solo é maioritariamente granítico, terroir perfeito para vinhos minerais. O clima é mais agreste, Inverno frio e muito chuvoso e o Verão bastante quente e seco, favorecendo a maioria das castas brancas, especialmente o Alvarinho, Loureiro, Arinto e Azal. A beleza desta zona rural é só comparável com o incrível rio Tâmega, que ladeia todas as nossas vinhas.
A feliz coincidência de ser o sitio perfeito para cultivar as uvas ideais para o vinho verde que queremos fazer.

Land. The terroir. The gps point. Where we are from. Where we are. For us, our land is Basto. More precisely Atei, the jewel of the region, bathed by the Tâmega. Fertile land, green, despite being "from trás-os-montes", with more vines than people. Inland, proud people. We are blessed to live here.
And that we are blessed to live here.
The sub-region of Basto is the most inland of the Vinhos Verdes Region, at a high average altitude, thus sheltered from maritime winds. The soil is mostly granite, the perfect terroir for mineral wines. The climate is harsh, with cold and rainy winters and hot and dry summers, favouring most of the white grape varieties, especially Alvarinho, Loureiro, Arinto and Azal. The beauty of this rural area can only be compared to the stunning Tâmega river, which runs alongside all our vineyards.
The happy coincidence of being in the perfect place to grow the ideal grapes for the wine we want to make.
